It is a Camperdown Elm aka Ulmus glabra cv.Camperdownii and a very lovely tree. A fairly fast grower and as beautiful in winter with its artistic branching habit as it is in the summer with the wonder umbrella habit it has.
An Elm you say??? Why would anyone plant an Elm? This is not the "run of the mill" Elm. This one is great as a Garden Anchor. In time it will make a beautiful umbrella over the garden.
I have moved over 100 Daylilies and purchased a few more. Not to mention the many other plants that have been moved also. This spring has been too busy with planting and I hope to spend more time enjoying the gardens next year.
Quilting is on the agenda with so many new patterns out and so many ideas running around in my head. Some I have taken the time to sit down and draw out. Now...I just need to express them in fabric.
Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful summer. Our temps have been great but we could use just a bit more rain.
